What is an approved seller/store?
On June 22, 2021, Hermit Harbor proudly became an approved seller! Land Hermit Crab Owners Society’s (LHCOS) Approved Seller program requires that the business have a solid grasp on what is safe or unsafe for hermit crabs, based on LHCOS’s standards for care. Additionally, LHCOS believes in honesty and transparency, and good customer service. The LHCOS board of directors and local representatives thoroughly reviews a seller's site and products before voting on approval. Hermit crabs sold in pet stores and boardwalk shops are wild-caught. The hermit crab's journey to the store is tremendously stressful and cruel, please don't support this inhumane pet trade. We have over 20 healthy and outgoing pet hermit crabs available for immediate adoption.
